Cheveresan Maria is a water resource management expert with 15 years of experience in assignments related to integrated water resource management, flood modeling and mapping, flood risk assessment and mitigation, flood forecasting system, climate change adaptation. Several of these assignments were conducted for Ministry of Waters and Forests and National Water Board in Romania, but also in international projects under Interreg financing programs. She graduated with a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering and has a PhD in Quantitative management of the water resources from Technical University of Civil Engineering in Bucharest. Cheveresan built competences in topics related to water allocation issues and building decision support systems that can bring data to knowledge and informed decisions for a better management of the available water resources.
Currently, she works as Head of International Development for Southeast Europe under DHI.
