Biography

Katerina Schilling has over fifteen years of experience in water management and international utility cooperation. After earning a master’s degree in Biology with a specialization in freshwater ecology from the University of Vienna, Katerina joined the Vienna University of Technology, Institute for Water Quality, Resources and Waste Management as a Research Assistant. Her work focused on projects dealing with water quality and included lecturing in basic and advanced courses for operators of wastewater treatment plants. She obtained her PhD in water quality management within the framework of “The Vienna Doctoral Programme on Water Resource Systems” at the TU Wien. In 2016, Katerina joined the Danube regional water utility association IAWD and has contributed to the association in the field of knowledge management, capacity building, communication and event management.

Currently, she is leading the IAWD Secretariat and guides the implementation of the Danube Water Program on the recipient executed side.
