Biography
Stefan Bleisteiner has over 20 years of experience in the Bavarian water management administration. He graduated in 2000 with a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Technical University of Munich. He currently serves as the Deputy Head of the “Water Protection in Municipal and Domestic Wastewater Disposal” unit at the Bavarian Environment Agency in Augsburg. His main responsibilities include addressing issues related to municipal wastewater treatment and advanced wastewater treatment, new technologies for advanced treatment—particularly the elimination of trace substances—and overseeing the technical implementation of water law and the Water Framework Directive at municipal sewage treatment plants in Bavaria. Additionally, Stefan represents Bavaria as an expert at the International Water Protection Commission for Lake Constance and is a member of the DWA technical committee KA-8, on “Processes for advanced wastewater treatment following biological treatment”.
