Raimund Mair

Raimund Mair has more than ten years of experience in integrated water resource management. Before joining the World Bank he worked for the European Commission. His professional responsibilities covered the implementation of the EU Water Framework Directive (WFD), including questions related to sustainable infrastructure development, structural changes of surface waters and the WFD environmental objectives. During his previous occupations at the International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River and at the Austrian Federal Ministry of Environment, Raimund has been actively involved in promoting transboundary water cooperation and inter-sectorial cooperation.

Raimund studied Environmental Engineering and Water Management at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna and holds a Diploma in engineering and a Diploma in Water Policy from Cranfield University, United Kingdom.
