Biography

Megi Marku is a Hydrotechnical engineer and works as a World Bank Consultant for the Utility of the Future – Center of Excellence program. In addition to her academic endeavors, she actively engages in various multidisciplinary pursuits as an advocate for the SDGs, youth empowerment and an active participant in politics. She chairs the Youth Forum for Human Rights and Democracy and has represented the Albanian youth in global stages such as at the UN ECOSOC Youth Forum 2023 as a two-time panelist, the European Parliament at the European Youth Event 2023 and the World Health Organization.

She is an elected member of the Tirana Municipality’s Local Youth Council and has previously served as a Project Coordinator at the UN Youth Association of Albania.

Because of her active participation in politics, commitment to activism and advocacy efforts she was recognized as Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Scholar ’22-’23, OSCE Peace and Security ’23 Scholar and MIRAI program Ambassador for the Peacebuilding group ’23-’24.
