Biography
Arjan is a social geographer by training, business developer by profession. He holds degrees from International School of Economics Rotterdam, Columbia University (USA) and Oxford University (UK), with a specific focus on the socio-economic impact of water-related disasters.
Within NWP, he has transitioned from a more regional focus on Latin-America to a broader representation of the Dutch Water Sector and its interests in his current role as business relations manager. Within the context of NWP’s cross-sectoral ambitions, his focus is on connecting food production, agriculture and horticulture with global water challenges – and promoting and developing Dutch solutions to address these challenges.
These global water challenges we are facing are at a scale that we can no longer expect to address them individually – transboundary and international collaboration is our only path forward. It is the job of the Netherlands Water Partnership to connect challenges and solutions, and to create a coalition of willing and able stakeholders to develop local and regional solutions towards a sustainable, socially just and environmentally resilient planet for future generations.
Let’s meet and attempt to change the planet together!
