Biography

Vullnet Laniku is a full-time teaching assistant and PhD candidate at the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina”.

His research focuses on Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC), energy-efficient resource allocation in IoT networks, and multi-objective optimisation methods that combine evolutionary algorithms with reinforcement learning. His work has been published in IEEE conference proceedings, and he collaborates on research into the coexistence of sensing and communication in heterogeneous IoT fleets.

Before his full-time academic engagement, he gained more than four years of professional experience in telecommunications and network engineering, working on projects for major cable operators in the United States, as well as on Python automation of engineering processes.

At this conference he presents an analysis of data completeness in the pilot of 1,758 LoRaWAN smart water meters in the Tophane neighbourhood of Prishtina, treating radio link quality as a matter of billing fairness and regulatory oversight.
