Sajmir Beqiraj

Prof. Dr. Sajmir Beqiraj is a hydrobiologist and zoologist, professor at the University of Tirana. His research work is focused on benthic invertebrates (zoobenthos), hydrobiology, aquatic ecology, marine biology, benthic ecology, conservation biology, environmental monitoring, assessment and conservation, marine protected areas, alien and invasive marine species.

This research includes marine habitats such as hard and soft bottoms, underwater seagrass meadows, coastal lagoons, lakes, rivers, and wetland habitats. He has participated in numerous national and international scientific projects as a coordinator, team leader, and expert.

He is a member of several boards, scientific committees, and international professional networks in his field of research. He has a large number of publications in indexed international journals.
